Cavmont Bank Limited (“Cavmont Bank”) was established through a merger between Cavmont Merchant Bank Limited and New Capital Bank Plc. In 2006 Cavmont Bank’s Holding company, Cavmont Capital Holdings Zambia Plc (CCHZ), sought a strategic investment partner and identified Capricorn Investment Holdings Limited (CIH). CIH acquired a 44.2% shareholding in CCHZ in 2007. Discussion held with the Bank of Zambia to find an acceptable manner to recapitalize Cavmont Capital Bank through a rights issue by CCHZ was concluded successfully, with CIH underwriting the rights issue.
84.8% of Cavmont Capital Holding Zambia shareholding is taken up by the following organizations:
- Capricorn Investment Holding
- Cavmont and Company SA
- National Pensions Scheme Authority (NAPSA)
- White Barry Howard
- FMO Netherlands
The remaining 15.2% is held by various shareholders currently totaling three hundred and eight (308).
