Management Team

The organisational structure of Cavmont Capital Bank has been instituted to be more focused on the core activities of the bank. The current management structure has been designed to achieve the bank's ambitions of being the best in the market and provide leadership in the financial sector. Currently, Cavmont Capital Bank organisational structure is as follows:

Mr Philip C Chibuta
Acting Managing Director
Mr Chibuta holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Edith Cowan University in Western Australia. He is also an Associate Member of the Australian Institute of Management, a professional organization of managers in Australia.

He has 24 years of Banking experience with Barclays Bank of Zambia and worked in various capacities in Zambia, Botswana, Swaziland, Kenya and the United Kingdom before retiring as a Senior Business Manager in 1998.

He sat on the Task Force appointed in the winding up of Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines when the largest mining company was privatized. Worked with St. Johns Medical Centre Clinic as General Manager for two years and joined Cavmont Capital Bank in January 2004.

Mr Mudenda Siyamujaye
Manager, Treasury
He is the head of Treasury and has been with the bank for 3 years. An affiliate of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). A member of the Financial Markets Association of Zambia.

Mr Obed Kapesa
Internal Auditor
Is a chartered Accountant who worked for Coopers & Lybrand for 5 years in both the Audit and Taxation Department.

He has had 17 years working experience in the banking industry, having worked for Zambia National Commercial Bank for 9 years.

Ms Suzyo Phiri
Manager, Human Resource
A member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resources Management and holder of a Bachelor of Arts degree with psychology major she also possesses certificates in solving Human and Organisational problems and in Industrial Relations, Personnel Management and Trade Union Studies obtained locally and in Japan.

She has over 17 years experience in industrial and human resource relations. Has worked in established organisations such as a major Zambian Mining company (ZCCM), Insurance company (ZSIC), private Spinning company (Swarp Spinning) and a private Bank (Barclays). Celebrated as Eagles Award Achiever in recognition of outstanding performance under Human Resources for the overall Barclays Africa and Middle East and was seconded to Barclays Africa Regional Operations Team to undertake an assignment to design and embed a Human Resources initiative for Barclays Africa .

Ms Phiri also has investigative skills having worked with Anti Corruption Commission and has experience in both General Insurance underwriting and general claims.

Mr Trojan Nyirenda
Manager, Finance
Mr Nyirenda has over 7 years experience in the banking industry, all in the Cavmont Group. He is a holder of BAcc and a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

He has been instrumental in the merger of New Capital Bank Plc and Cavmont Merchant Bank Limited.

Mr Brian Kalunga
Manager, Information Technology
Brian is a Member of the Computer Society of Zambia and holds a BSc in Computer Science with Mathematics. Has 16 years of computer systems operations, having worked for ICL Zambia Ltd as Software Support Engineer till 1982 before joining AIS Zambia Ltd as Professional Services Manager, Software Manager and later as Training Manager.

He joined Celtel Zambia Ltd as Information Technology Manager reporting to the CFO/Managing Director from its inception as the first GSM Cellular Telecommunications Company in Zambia in 1998.

Brian left Celtel Zambia Ltd in May 2005 having served 7 years and joined Cavmont Capital Bank Zambia Ltd as IT and Communications Manager reporting to the Managing Director in December 2005, a position he holds to date.

Mr Bwanga Kapumpa
Foreign Operations Manager
Mr Kapumpa is Manager responsible for Foreign Operations. A career banker for twenty years and previously worked for Citibank and has been with the Cavmont Group for the last ten years. Has undergone business and banking training in Europe and Africa.

Mr Chazya Chilando
Operations Manager

Mr Sanjit Pranav Sampat
Regional Manager Copperbelt
Mr. Sampat joined the Cavmont Group 9 years ago after completing his ACCA, as a Management Trainee and rose to the position of Branch Manager within 18 months. He has worked in all three of the Copperbelt Province branches and was responsible for the positive turn around of one branch and the opening of the Kitwe Branch. He is responsible for the introduction of trade receivable discounting products in the region.

He has undergone academic, business and banking training in Europe, Asia and Africa.

He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He serves on executives of the Kitwe & District Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants, having also held the Chairmanship of ACCA Zambia Branch and the KDCCI.
